   August 2010 Newsletter

Saddle Ridge Homeowners Association Newsletter August 2010

Ø We will be holding the annual family pool party on Sunday, August 22nd from 12 - 4 PM. Please RSVP to Donna Offutt at 734-260-5079 or doffutt1@hotmail.com by August 20th.

Ø The last day the pool will be open is September 26th.

Ø Please make sure to check the Saddle Ridge Homeowners Association website at www.saddleridgetn.net for information regarding the subdivision and activities.

Ø We are pleased to welcome Rob Hanlon to the board. Rob brings a wide range of knowledge and experience to the board.

Ø Please remember school is back in session and drivers should be aware of children heading to and from neighborhood bus stops. The speed limit in the neighborhood is 25mph.

Ø The Saddle Ridge Homeowners Association has a four drawer, legal size file cabinet available on a first come, first serve basis for free to any homeowner who wants it. You must haul the cabinet away.  Contact Ann Horst at horst_ann@yahoo.com .

 

Ø If your email addresses changes please make sure to email your new email address to the SR board at info@saddleridgetn.net . If you are aware of any neighbors who are not receiving the newsletter, please ask them to send their email address to us.

Ø In order to help keep the neighborhood looking good, please make sure garbage and/or recycling cans are stored in an enclosed area that is out of sight.

Ø According to Saddle Ridge Covenants, only ‘for sale’ signs are permissible to display on any property within the subdivision.

Ø If you see any suspicious activity in the neighborhood, please call the police if you feel it is appropriate and report it to a board member. Loitering at the pool is not allowed.

o   At least two homes on High Oak had their mailboxes vandalized

o   Also on High Oak a resident reports teenagers are causing frequent disturbances (screaming and setting off fireworks) after 9pm when some children are trying to sleep.  Someone is also ringing door bells late at night (11pm) and then running away.

Ø Social Events

·       The Saddle Ridge Family Pool Party has been rescheduled for August 14th (11am – 3pm).  This event will be held in conjunction with the Back to School Party.  Please RSVP to Donna Offutt at 734-260-5079 or doffutt1@hotmail.com by August 9th.

·       Please contact Donna Offutt (734-260-5079 or doffutt 1@hotmail.com ) or John Radu ( johnradu2117@hotmail.com ) if you are interested in helping with any social event.

Ø In order to help keep the neighborhood looking good, please make sure your garbage cans/recycling bins are stored in an enclosed area so they remain out of sight.  “Garbage containers shall be concealed from views by appropriate screening subject to approval from the SRHA Advisory Committee” (Article XIII, Section 1 of SRHA Covenants).

Ø If you wish to make modifications to the exterior of your home please make sure to submit an Architectural Review Request form to Paul Yosick, John Radu, or John Roberts for approval prior to starting any work.

Ø Please be mindful of our Bylaws regarding signs on property which states, “No sign of any kind shall be displayed for the public view on any lot except one professional sign advertising the lot for sale or rent.”

Ø There have been several incidences of vandalism at the pool.  If you see anything suspicious, please report it to a board member or call the police.  Please make sure children know loitering is not allowed at the pool, tennis courts or clubhouse after hours.

Ø SRHA Covenants and Bylaws are being reviewed and updated. Please watch for more information in future newsletters.

Ø There are an increasing amount of people soliciting in the neighborhood.  Solicitation by non-residents is not allowed.  A sign will be installed at the entrance to the subdivision informing people of this policy.

Ø A correction needs to be made for the email address listed in the directory for Dai, Pengcheng, and Yanyan Carol Tang.  They can be contacted at ctang8682@gmail.com

Ø Saddle Ridge would like to welcome to the neighborhood the following residents

Saddle Ridge Homeowners Association Newsletter May 2010

·       Donna Offut has resigned from the board.  We are looking for a volunteer to fill this open position.   Please contact any Board member if interested.

·       The surface of the tennis courts need repair. We are researching various options at this time.  We ask for your patience as any action taken would probably not occur until the fall.

·       If you have a son/daughter, at least 15 years of age, interested in working as a Saddle Ridge pool monitor please have them contact John Roberts (671-2748).

·       There have been inquiries regarding tennis and/or swimming lessons using SR facilities.  Saddle Ridge does not organize these activities.  A Saddle Ridge homeowner may do so provided any applicable rules are followed.  The pool is available for swimming lessons from 7am to 9am on any given day – contact John Roberts (671-2748).  Questions regarding use of the tennis courts for lessons should be directed to Paul Yosick (777-0013).

·       Anyone willing to carpool to area private schools (CAK) in the fall should contact Jennifer Whicker (288-0076).

·       The Saddle Ridge Homeowners Association website (saddleridgetn.net) contains all pertinent information regarding the subdivision.

 

SOCIAL EVENTS

·       The pool will open on Wednesday May 19th.  Hours for May 19 – May 21 will be 4pm – 9pm since school is still in session.

·       Beginning Saturday, May 22nd, pool hours will be 9am – 9pm every day.     

·       The End of School/ Pool Opening Party will be held May 22nd.  More information regarding this event will be put in your mailbox.   

·       The annual subdivision garage sale will be held June 12th.  Contact Ann Horst (675-6733 or saddleridgetn@gmail.com) if you are interested in participating.

Saddle Ridge Homeowners Association Newsletter – April 2010

Gordon Michaels has resigned from the Board.  John Roberts has agreed to take on the role of President.  Thank you to Gordon for his service to the Board and also to John Roberts for assuming the President’s position.

Please drive safely in the neighborhood. There are people who walk, jog, and/or ride their bikes at all hours of the day and night.  The speed limit is 25 mph.

Social Events

·        The pool will be opening on May 19th this year.

o   We are looking for residents interested in opening and closing duties for the pool to include some janitorial duties.

·        The End of School/Pool Opening Party will be held on May 22nd.

·        The annual subdivision Garage Sale will be held June 12th (8am – noon).

o   Each family can have a sale at their house or combine with neighbors to for an even larger sale.  Would like to get RSVP’s (Ann Horst) and try to put out a map if enough people sign up.  Participants would need to put balloons out to mark garage sale locations.  We will advertise in the Farragut Press and Knoxville News Sentinel plus put out signs on K. Pike, N. Hobbs, and in front of the subdivision.  This is an early notice so you have time to decide about participating.  An email will be sent out in May to sign up for the garage sale.  Hope you will join in the neighborhood garage sale.  It’s a great time to do it and we have MANY people come to this each year.
